Mr Moncktou, Opposition candidate, addressed the most successful political meeting yet held in Otaki on Monday evening last. Mr A. W. Skermau was in the chair and about 300 people were present. Mr Moncktou was frequently applauded and answered a number of questions to the satisfaction of the audience. Mr Podevin proposed a vote of thanks and confidence which wis carried unanimously. lue meeting concluded with three hearty cheers for Mr Monckton.
