ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES
PETITIONS OF PROTEST.
The two Representation Commissions will meet this afternoon to prepare their final reports defining the boundaries of the electoral districts. Forty-four petitions protesting against the proposals of the North Island Commission have been forwarded. The districts affected are: Franklin, Raglan, Ohiuemuri, Thames, Egmont, Stratford, Wanganui, Otaki, and Hutt.
The Commission has decided that it will not receive any personal deputations in support of the objections. It is expected that the reports will be presented to Parliament probably within a week. Should the Commissions decide to make many alterations iu their proposals, there may be some delay, as maps showing the defined boundaries must accompany the reports.
