LIBEL ACTIONS.
Masterton, August 26,
With reference to the action for libel commenced by J. J. Kelliher, law clerk, and son of an ex-publi-can, against the Wairarapa Age for alleged libel, contained in a report of a No-License anniversary meeting held at Masterton on June 30, the matter has now been settled by the defendant company publishing a full and unqualified apology in both local newspapers. Mr C. A. Pownall, solicitor, acting on behalf of J. J. Kelliher, has to-day issued a writ against Jabez Bridges, of Masterton, secretary of the No-. License League, claiming the sum of damages for alleged libel in connection with the recent No-License anniversary.
