JOCKEYS AND MILITARY TRAINING.

Auckland, August 9,

About thirty jockeys and stable boys made a demonstration last night against compulsory military training. They marched up Queen Street singing songs. The leader repeatedly cried : “Are we going to besojers,” and the chorus shouted : “ No! ’’ giving vent to a series of war cries. Arrived at the drill shed, where the Highland Rifles were drilling, the non-combatants formed fours and marched across the hall, but the police putting in an appearance they made no further demonstration.
