Wanganui, May 22

Mrs Melville, about twenty-six years of age, wife of a tailor residing at Eastown, disappeared on Saturday aud has not been seen since. She left a note saying ” Goodbye,” as she could not stand worry auy longer. The wax portion of a boxful of matches was found in the kitchen and it is feared that the unfortunate woman has committed suicide. When she went away the mother left two children, one aged three years aud the other thirteen months, on the verandah, telling them she was going to bring them lollies.
