BABY FOUND IN RIVER.
Christchurch, May 22
The body of a newly-born male child was found in the Heathcote river yesterday. At the inquest this morning the evidence showed that the child was born alive and death was due to failure to tie the umblical cord. The child was dead when it was put into the water. No evidence as to identity was forthcoming.
