PRESBYTERIAN S.S. SOCIAL.

A very enjoyable social, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Sunday School, was held in the Presbyterian Hall last night, when the annual prize distribution took place. The gathering was presided over by the Rev. Mr Aitken, and besides the scholars there were a number of parents and friends present. The following scholars were awarded prizes ; —Miss Altken’s class : Attendance —Jeanuie McKnight 1, Ivy Henderson 2; Miss Duncan’s class; marks —Lindsay Aitken 1, Edgar McEwen 2; do. Miss Aitkenhj class—Jeanuie McKnight 1, E. Ross 2; Miss Rough’s class— Moana Me Eweu 1, Ella Patterson 2; Miss Ross’ class —lan Ross x, Walter McKnight 2. Miss Bessie Speirs’ class (iulants) each received a prize. Senior scripture examination —Elsie Isabel Ross, scripture, S 3 per cent., essay 7S per cent. 1 ; Miss Jeannie McKnight, 62 per cent, and So per cent., 2, Junior —Hazel Pearson, 66 per cent. 1 ; Edgar McEwen, 5S per cent. 2. Moana McEwen and Jeannie Me Knight were awarded prizes for the best attendances at Sunday morning services. The following children contributed items to the musical programme, which were all nicely rendered and well received : —Ella Patterson, Regie McEwen, Jeannie McKnight, Harry Procter, Moana Me Ewan, dialogue by six girls and two boys. Nancy Ross (club swinging), Alice Sewell, John Hornblow, lan Ross, Violet McSaveney. The Rev. Mr Aitken delivered an appropriate address. Refreshments were supplied iu abundance and were done ample justice to.
