POLITICAL.
Says Wednesday’s Raugitikei Advocate ;—lt is understood that the Ministerial party will make strenuous efforts to retain Rangitikei seat at the coming election, and also to regain the Manawatu, Oroua and Palmerston seats. It is also likely that circumstances may arise which will strengthen their efforts, apart altogether from the fact that a considerable amount of money will be available for allocation. The No-license party will also be strongly in evidence in these electorates, and will make determined efforts to carry their policy into effect.
Mr William Thomson is the latest candidate announced tor the Otaki seat at the next election. Mr Thomson will stand as a supporter of the Opposition. He is a pronounced freeholder, and his views are those of the Reform party.
