SCULLING.

Sydney, February 21. Syd. Kemp, son of ex-champion Peter Kemp, has lodged a deposit to row Pearce for the championship of Australia and ,£IOO aside on the Parramatta River at the end of April or beginning of May. The challenge came as a surprise, though Kemp has won a number of races latterly. The Arnst-Pearce negotiations for world’s championship race have been blocked through Pearce’s inability to obtain the full amount of the stake, Arnst declining to row for anything less than aside.
