MOTOR ACCIDENT.

A serious motor accident occurred at Tiakitahuna on Tuesday evening to a party driving along the level road in a large car. Why trying to avoid an approaching vehicle the car went on to the grass at the side of the road and overturned twice. The occupants fell out and sustained serious injuries.

Mr Symonds fractured the bone of his left forearm, and his right arm was badly lacerated. Miss Symonds fractured her right collar-bone. Mr Colin McKenzie smashed his right shoulder. Mrs McKenzie fractured her right shoulder joint. Ronald McKenzie (five-year-old son of Mr and Mrs McKenzie), received a severe scalp wound, and is suffering from shock.

The latter was taken to his father’s house at Oroua Bridge, and the other four were brought into the Palmerston N. Hospital.
