FOXTON RACING CLUB.
A meeting of stewards of the above was held on Tuesday night. Present: Messrs W. Barber (chair), Dr Maudl, G. Coley, H. Witchell, R. Hines, O. and C. Robinson, F. Jeuks. C. Hunt, W. Howau and the secretary (W. Gray), Correspondence was read and dealt with.
It was proposed by Mr C. Hunt, and seconded by Mr G. Coley, that £$ be granted to Foxtou horse trainers to erect a steeplechase schooling course on the inside of race course enclosure.
Accounts amounting to ,£142 xs ird were passed lor payment. Mr C. Hunt proposed, and Mr F. Jeuks seconded, that two guineas be donated as a contribution to St. John’s Ambulance corps.
The secretary presented a rough balance-sheet, showing a profit of over on the meeting, including paid to the Government as tax on race meeting, and it was decided to place ,£7OO on fixed deposit at Bank of New Zealand, Foxtou, carrying forward ,£250 for contingent expenses. It was proposed by Dr Mandl, seconded by Mr O. Robinson, that a vote of appreciation be passed to the secretary lor the able manner in which he had carried out his duties. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
