FOXTON RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of the members of the above was held in the Council Chamber on Tuesday evening, Mr C. Rand presided. The secretary was instructed to inform the secretary of the Himatangi division that the Club would be free for class-firing 011 Wednesday and Saturday 22nd and 25th insts. It was pointed out that the class firing would take place on the Himatangi range, this being the Club's registered range. Mean* of locomotion was left for the secretary to arrange and each member will be duly notified. Special stress was laid upon the absolute necessity for intending members to baud in their names at once in order to put in the required annual class-firing to qualify for free ammunition. It was decided to commence the second shoot for the Perreau points prize on Wednesday, March Ist. Notice of motion was given by R. Ashmore, seconded by K. Furrie : “ that each competition for any cup or trophy be decided in one week, and for points prizes each of the series of competitions to be likewise completed in one week.” The Secretary and Mr Gillespie were appointed to canvass for trophies. Subsequently the Committee decided upon the following method of hand icappiug: All handicaps to be decided on the 32 limit basis for each range ; maximum handicap for any range, 10 ; the score of any competitor being eight below the average cannot be considered in a re-handicap.
