ACETYLENE EXPLOSION.

TWO MEN KILLED. Sydney, February 5. Mr George Bertrand Edwards, M.H.R. for North Sydney, met with a terrible death at his residence, Huou Park, Turramurra. Mr Edwards was engaged with a man named Graham overhauling an acetylene gas plant, when an explosion occurred and both were killed instantly. Messrs Edwards and Graham were terribly injured about the head, and the force of the explosion blew their bodies several yards and wrecked the shed. Mr Edwards was apparently standing over the tank watching the repairs. Mr Edward’s death will mean a severe loss to the Federal Opposition, as he was one of the m ost prominent and strongest m embers.
