FOXTON RACING CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. The approaching meeting of the above Club, to be held on January aistand 23rd, is the chief topic of conversation now, and if the Club is favoured with fine weather there should be a record attendance. Mr J. E. Henrys’handicaps for the first day’s events, which appeared in our last issue, have been favourably received in sporting circles, and when the acceptances close there should be a lengthy list of contestants. The Club’s late secretary, Mr A. Keith, has been appointed starter, and we are sure that there will be no fault found in his way of starting. The services of the local Borough Baud have been secured, and during the day spirited selections will be rendered. The caretaker, Mr A. E. Shadbolt, is getting the course in excellent condition, and should this state of affairs continue, some fast times should be put up. The energetic secretary, Mr W. Gray, is hard at work and is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a successtul gathering.
