A start will be made next Wednesda}' week for the Feathers competition. These competitions should increase the enthusiasm of local bowlers. Rules for the competitions have been drawn up and are as follows ; 1. All matches 21 heads, four players each side, two bowls each. 2. Players to be drawn by ballot. For first game the first eight players drawn shall be the Feather teams, and these players will choose their two skips by election. The skips shall choose their teams, tossing for first choice. 3. Holders of Feathers and members eligible to be drawn must be on the ground not later than 3 p.m. every Wednesday, unless engaged playing as the Club’s representatives elsewhere (when no matches can be played). In the event of any holders of the Feathers or any members of the challenging team being absent, they shall forfeit their places, and another player or players shall be elected by ballot to fill the vacant place or places. 4. In the event of eight eligible players being on the green in addition to the Feathers team, the Committee to have the right to play an extra rink, the winners of which (to be called the “runners-up” team) to play holders of leathers the following Wednesday, or as provided for in Rule 9. The procedure for election of runners-up teams to be as set out in Rule 2. 5. No players who have been defeated in the previous feathers and runners-up games are eligible to play, unless there are not sufficient other players present, in which case the defeated runnersup players to have preference, but such number of members of defeated teams only shall be balloted tor as shall be required to complete the playing teams. 6. In the event of no challenging team being present, the challenging team shall be the first four eligible members drawn by ballot. Should the skip of either the feathers or challenging teams be absent, the teams shall have the right (after the ballot) to elect a new skip from among their number, and the player balloted in shall take the position of the player so elected skip. 7. Every member of the Club on the roll at date of the official opening has a prior right in the ballot, against members who have already played in a feathers or runners-up game. 8. Winners of feathers for three successive games (including substitutes) must retire, but shall be eligible lor ballot for the next following game. The winners of the runners-up game will then be the defenders of the feathers. 9. Holders of feathers can, at their option, accept a challenge to play on any day other than Wednesday. 10. A record to be kept of all members playing in these matches, and the skips of the winning teams to be responsible for seeing that the names of winners and losers are posted immediately after conclusion of match 2s. 11. Each member of a challenging rink to pay au entrance fee of is, such fees to go towards the Club’s funds. 12. At date of the official closing of the green, the number of feather wins scored by individual members to be counted, and the four who have secured the greatest number to be entitled to retain the feathers permanently. Ties to be settled in such manner as feathers committee may decide. 13 Holders of feathers must wear the badges when playing matches.

14 In the event ot any dispute arising, the feathers committee on the ground to decide same, such decision to be final.
