THE POLAR EXPEDITION.

SUGGESTED WIRELESS COMMUNICATION. Christchurch, Sept. 19. In connection with the Antarctic Expedition, the Prime Minister has informed the Philosophical Institute that the wireless station to be established at the Bluff will have a radius of 1250 miles in the daytime and up to 2500 miles at night. If the station is erected in time it should be possible to communicate with Captain Scott’s expedition from New Zealand, provided the intention to erect a wireless station in the Far South is carried out. It is suggested that an arrangement might be made for a warship to bridge the gap between the Antarctic and New Zealand at a time to be agreed upon.
