KING EDWARD MEMORIAL.

London, Sept. 18

Mr W. J. Simpson is in communication with the Lord Mayor upon a proposal to commemorate the memory of the late King by establishing an Imperial Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine primarily devoted to the study of endemic and epidemic diseases which render the tropics unhealthy to white people. One half of the sum of ,£300,000 required for the consumptiva sanatorium as a Welsh national memorial to King Edward is already promised.
