Bates wires as follows at noon to-day : South easterly moderate to strong winds ; squally at times ; expect damp and cold weather ; very heavy rain may be expected ; river flooded ; glass fall slowly. Tides poor; sea rough off shore. Expect unsi tiled and cloudy weather; likely to continue for some days.
