Paris, July 8
M. Gaubert, while aeroplaning at Vichy, in the Department of the Allier, fell from a height of 240 feet into the Allier River. He was unhurt.
M. Latham, the well-known aeroplanist, put up a good performance at Rheims, He rose to a height of 4658 feet, which constitutes a record. He was hidden by the clouds for fifteen minutes.
The Baroness De la Roche, while aeroplaning at Rheims, fell from a height ot 50 metres, and was so badly injured that there is no hope ot her recovery. Believing that a German aviator, Lindpainters, contributed to the Baroness De la Roche’s fall by flying too closely above her, an indignant crowd at Rheims cried threats of lynching the man. Though the Batoness’s leg, arm and pelvis are fractured she has regained consciousness. New York, July 10.
Walter Brookings attained an altitude of 6100 feet in a flight above Atlanta City in a Wright biplane. This establishes a record. Tondon, July S.
I,ady Abdy, in a letter, confirms her offer of for the construction of a passenger airship. She adds that she does not necessarily limit the amount to be ex pended to ,£50,000.
