ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Christchurch, June 21
Just as he was returning from lunch to-day, Frank Fox, traffic clerk in the office of the Tramway Board, was suddenly taken ill and collapsed. He was carried into the Board’s offices and medical assistance summoned, but before the doctor could arrive Fox was dead. Deceased was a single man, about thirty years of age, and his parents reside in England, Death is supposed to be due to heart failure.
Wklunoton, June 21
The New Plymouth bucket and suction dredge Paritutu arrived at Wellington to-day from Paisley. During the voyage William Hood, cook and steward, dropped dead, apparently from heart disease, and was buried at sea.
Auckland, June 21
A gumdigger named T. Moore disappeared from Hobsouville on June nth. His body was found yesterday in a waterhole. He was seventy four years of age, and probably lost his way in the darkness.
Hokitika, June 22,
Word has been received of the death by drowning of Constable Hancox, of Okarito, when crossing the Karangarua River, South Westland, this morning. Deceased lost his wife a few weeks ago. He leaves four young children.
