Reefton. June 5. A young man named Reginald Watts, supposed to have come from Christchurch, fell down the Energetic Mine shaft late last night when bailing water, and dropped 1 goo feet. His mate suddenly missed him, and the body when found was fearfully injured. Auckland, June 4. Thomas Roberts, a single man employed on the Sugar Company’s works at Chelsea, fell from a platform a distance of 50ft. He succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital. Auckland, June 4. Alfred Spalding, a single man, aged 20, employed as a fitter, was killed at the Auckland railway engine workshops. His head was crushed by the crank of a hydraulic pump.
