Nhi.son, March 30
At the inquest on the body of a young man named William Knight, a porter, who was found on the road at Pokororo early on Tuesday morning and placed in a shed where he subsequently died, the medical evidence showed that death resulted from a fractured skull evidently the result of a fall from a horse. It appeared that the deceased had been attending the sports at Motueka and had been drinking with other 3'ouths. The coroner returned a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence and directed the police to make exhaustive inquiry into the drinking among the youths which had evidently taken place at the sports and in town. Pie was satisfied that the men who found the porter on the road had no reason to believe that he was injured.
