Wanganui, This Day

The monthly meeting of the Wanganui balneation Board was held last night. Present; —Messrs Pirani (chairman), Aldridge, Bennett, Fraser, O’Dea and Purnell. Resignations —C. M. Crawford, F. Wardsraanth, A. Sparrow, A. Woodman, H. Henderson, A. McDonogh, S. C. Gascoigne and B. Hansen.

Appointments J. Carmody, Winiata ; Miss Dorset, Ralokore ; H. Gray, Campbell Street ; F. A. Bates, Feilding. The following applied for transfers F". W. Davie, F. E. Perry, E. V. Black, N. Dowling and F. G. L- Holland.

Leave of absence was granted to M. D. Alexander, 15 months ; C. J. Rashleigh, 3 months ; M. Kuhtze, 1 mouth ; M. McKenzie, 1 week ; O. Tansey, 1 mouth.

It was resolved to send heater to Taikorea side school.

In reference to the request of the F'oxtou Committee for the old school residence for the use of school cleaner the Board decided that it could not see its way to accede to their request. The alteration of the opening of the Foxton School at half-past nine on Friday morning was agreed to provided that the school was continued half an hour later in the afternoon. The question of the fumigation of the school was left in the hands of Mr Fraser. It was decided that the Board has no power to allow children to attend music lessons during school hours.

Applications for grants from Taihape, Kelvin Grove and other schools were refused owing to lack of funds. The bank overdraft stands at Accounts amounting to /,'iifix 16s 3d were passed for payment. The next meeting of the Board was fixed for Tuesday, sth April.
