CRICKET.
The Australians concluded their second match of the New Zealand tour yesterday, defeating Auckland, the crack New Zealand team. The Auckland team included Relf, the English professional who represented England in the tests last season and who has been engaged for the last three seasons by one of the Auckland clubs as coach. In Auckland’s first innings of 112 he scored 51. Australia replied with 355, thus leaving Auckland with the substantial score of 243 to get to escape an innings defeat. This proved too big a hurdle for the Aucklanders who were all dismissed for 115 runs. To-morrow afternoon Foxtou will journey to Himatangi to play the last match in the second round of the local competition. The drag will leave the firebell corner at 12.30 o’clock. The team is as follows : Bullard (captain), Robinson, Evans, Witchell, Osboldstone, Muuro, Hooker, Howe (2), Chrystall, Sefton and Whibley. There will be practice at the Park to-night from half past five until seven o’clock.
