FOXTON RACING CLUB.

A meeting ot stewards of the above was held in the Club’s Office last night. Present Messrs W. E. Barber (chairman), Dr. Mandl, C. Hunt, O. Robinson, W. Gray, W. Howan, E. Ball, F. E. Jenks and the secretary (A. Keith). An apology was received from Mr G. Coley. The course committee were authorised to obtain prices for erection of verandah and painting caretaker’s cottage, with power to act. The committee was also empowered to purchase a set of disc harrows.

The caretaker was granted permission to crop a portion of the course set out by the course committee. The caretaker to plough and sow same after cropping in grasses to be approved of by the committee.

Correspondence was read from the Wanganui Jockey Club, in reference to the disturbance in the jockeys’ room at the last meeting and stating that the matter will be further investigated at their meeting to be held on March 2nd, also soliciting information re same and asking that stewards be represented at the meeting. The secretary was instructed to forward the information asked for and it was resolved that the secretary and president represent the stewards at the meeting.

Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting rose.
