GRAVE DESECRATORS.

London, February 20

Sir William Lewis’s mausoleum at Cefn, Merthyr, was battered in and the coffin containing Lady Lewis’s remains removed from the shelf to the floor. The lid was broken open as if the desecrator hoped to find jewellery, but lost his nerve before completing the search. Nothing was taken from the body. A similar outrage took place at the late Col. D. Lewis’s grave at Cefn the previous week.
