TOWN CLERK’S REPORT.
The Town Clerk’s report submitted at last night’s Council meeting was as follows : The past month has been a quiet one with regard to work on the roads, most of the roadman's time has been put in on the formation of footpath in Robinson Street which is now practically completed from the corner of the Lady’s Mile to the corner of Russell Street, with the exception of the kerbing to protect the corners. Several holes in the Avenue, Russell and Union Streets have been attended to, and the water tables in Main Street have been twice cleaned during the month. An awkward cutting in the cemetery has been lowered and several trees trimmed back. In Main Street there was a tailing in of the pavement at the junction of Hennessy’s and Perreau’s buildings, apparently caused by rats, which has been made good. The triangle reserve has been mown and weeded as required.
