THEFT FROM THE FAMILY HOTEL.

SUSPECT ARRESTED AND PLEADS GUILTY.

John Morrison arrested at Wellington on Thursday for theft at Foxton, was remanded to Palmerston and brought before Mr A. D. Thompson S.M. this morning. He was charged by the police with the theft from the Family Hotel of a suit of clothes and pair of boots, the property of Abel Smith, a boarder. Accused pleaded guilty. Accused was further charged with the theft ot 23s from the Family Hotel, Foxton, the property of Dolly Osborne, an employee, to which he also pleaded guilty. Evidence was given by Constable F, Woods.

On the application of the police accused was remanded for a week, in order to allow an investigation to be made of accused’s antecedents.
