NOTES.
[“Bv Ear I,v Bird”]
Tote figures at the meeting 820 last year, this alter a decrease on Saturday last as compared with the first day of 1909. The Hack Scurry caused some disturbance at the racecourse yesterday afternoon. What is alleged to be an open riot amongst some horsemen and friends took place at the conclusion of the event, over which the Club held an enquiry and finally held the matter over till Friday evening.
The judge was in trouble yesterday in coming to a decision as to the result of the Hack .Scurry, aud had the number of an unplaced quadruped showing as the absolute winner. The public treated the matter as a joke, but quietness finally reigned supreme when the correct numbers were eventually hoisted. Interesting notes on the meeting are unavoidably held over till our next issue.
