CRICKET.

On the Park pitch yesterday afternoon Himatangi secured an easy victory over Foxton by six wickets. Neither team were represented by their full strength, Foxton being without the services of Cook, Witchell, and Preston, while Witton, Death, and Raikes were absent from the Himatangi team. Foxton batted first and up 91, of which Sefton scored 37. This player gave a real good display of batting, scoring all round the wicket. He plays some very fine strokes and is a decided acquisition to the Foxton team. Robinson 11, and Munro 10, were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. Redgrave and Barber opened for Himatangi, and the former, by forceful batting very soon had the scorer busy. These two batsmen brought the score to 69 before a separation was effected, Redgrave being caught in the long field. Barber, who played a good “stonewall” game was caught with the score at 72. Davey 17, and Rori played out time, the score being 97 for the loss of four wickers. The following are the scores: — FOXTON.
