SCULLING.
Arnst has accepted the offer made by South African sportsmen of a prize of for a match between Arnst and Barry, the English champion, to be rowed on the Zambesi River, at Victoria Falls, in August; the winner to take ; Arnst to be allowed for expenses. The promoters suggest that the race should take place between August 18 and August 25. With reference to the London cablegram announcing Arnst’s acceptance of Barry’s challenge, Arnst informed a Nelson Colonist reporter that the negotations were concluded by cable with the London Sportsman. The sum of is to be cut up, the winner receiving ,£750. Arnst is to receive for his expenses. The race is to be rowed at Victoria Falls on the Zambesi, but the date has not yet been arranged. Arnst states that his request for a side wager of has been declined so far as he knows at present. He will be accompanied by his brother, Jack Arnst, as. trainer.
