In the Society of Accountants Bill a proposal to extend the time for registration was carried. The Magistrate’s Courts Bill was reported without amendment. The House rose at 4.35 a.m. The Premier made a statement re the Timber Commission. The Government intended to bring in legislation next session to carry the spirit of the report. Mr Smith regretted that legislation affecting the timber industry would not be introduced this session, as that would mean a delay of nine months. The millers had been waiting to see what the Government would do before discharging their employees, which would now be done.
