CHURCH-GOING.
The old idea, however true it may have been, that men go to Church on a Sunday for something to do, and that women go to show off their clothes—is dead. The men and women who do.go to Chiirch in these days of amusement and attractions, go because they feel they owe something to their Creator, and that something is thankfulness and adoration. The Church-goer has not only a sense of reverence, but a sense of gratitude which he expresses in public worship. The non-churchgoer is not only irreverent, but also ungrateful; for he enjoys God's richest blessings without so much as saying: "Thank you." The universal law for all time is that men and women should publicly give God thanks—to neglect this is to ignore God and to hinder the spread of Christianity.
