IN A CHRISTCHURCH RESTAURANT.

Christchurch, Oct, 18

A shooting fatality happened late to-night. It appears that a man named Roberts went to a fish shop in Manchester Street, and asked to see a girl named Alice Newman, who was employed in the establishment. He followed her up to her room, and then shot her through the head, afterwards making his escape. The girl was killed instantaneously. The body was subsequently removed to the morgue. The police are searching for the man.
