THE HARMONIOUS HUXHAMS.

TO-NIGHT,

Speaking of the above company which appears in the Public Hall to-night, the Palea Press says “A large audience attended the Harmonious Huxharas’ show in the Druids’ Hall last evening and to all appearances found the entertainment provided very much to its liking. The programme was bright and varied, the items being so cleverly intermingled that the minutes flew by unheeded. At the commencement of the performance a couple of pictures were shown, one a bright specimen of the comic variety and the other a series of beautiful studies depleting birds and other wild creatures iu their native haunts. The Huxhams in their funny soldier sketch “The Three Musketeers,” raised a deal of hearty laughter and were equally successful iu a number of musical items both serious and comic. Miss Eva Scott, who contributed a song and dance, is a dainty little lady with a distinct turn for humorous expression. Miss Edith Maitland is gifted with a fine soprano voice which she displayed to advantage in rendering a selection from “Jack and Jill.” The pictures shown were all new and of excellent quality. Especially worthy of note 1 were “The King’s Derby of 1909,” and “New York.” The latter is a very fine film. It includes a striking study of the statute of Liberty at the entrance to New York harbour, and an excellent birds-eye view of Broadway. The performance concluded with an amusing farce entitled “The Escaped Indian.” It proved to be a true laughter raised, well conceived and effectively presented. The show was bright and lively throughout and we would gladly witness it again.”
