SHOOTING FATALITY.

A most distressing accident is reported from the Admiral run, some distance out from Gladstone, reports the Wairarapa News. It appears that the twin sous, Norman and Gordon, aged 12, of Mr J. O. Sutherland, went out in a boat on a lagoon, having a gun with them, which was lying in the bottom of the boat. From some cause not at present known, the gun exploded, lodging the charge in Norman's leg, completely severing the main artery. Blood poured from the wound, and by the time the boat had reached the shore and the wounded lad was carried home, he was terribly weak from the excessive loss of blood. Medical aid was secured from Mastertou, but it was unavailing, the poor lad passed away at 7 o’clock on Thursday evening.
