The following team has been ~i_ chosen to represent Foxton against Horowhenua : —Fullback, Coley threequarters, Tuohy and Bird (Awahou) Furrie (Albion); five-eighths, Momo and G. Dunn (Albions); half, Nepia (Albion); Wing, Reihana (Awahou); forwards, Joe, Jeffries, Reid, Hooker, Saville (Awahou), Cook .(Albion), Martin (Rongotea); emergencies Backs: Marsh (Awahou), Stitchbury, McNeil, Duke (Rongotea), Frankland, Cook (Albions); forwards — Robinson, Andresen, Wanklyn (Awahou), Larkins (Albion), Foster (Rongotea). At -Palmerston on Saturday the first round of the competition for the Abraham Cup was played, Old, Boys defeating Feilding by three points to nil. Rongotea forfeited to Palmerston. The fixtures for next Saturday are Palmerston Old Boys and Kia Toa v. Albion. Any Albion player unable to make the trip is requested to immediately advise the Secretary. Wellington defeated Taranaki at Wellington on Saturday, by 15 points to 6. Tries for the winners were scored by Green, R. Wilson and McKenzie, and Gardiner and Mitchinson kicked penalty goals. Cameron and T. Sheehan scored tries for Taranaki. The West Coast-Buller annual football match for the Molloy Cup was played at Cape Foulwind on Saturday, and resulted in a win
for the West Coast by 16 points penalty goal and three tries, two converted) to 8 points (two tries one converted). Auckland defeated Poverty Bay at Auckland on Saturday by 12 points to eight. The football match (League rules) between the Maoris and Australia, played at Brisbane on Saturday, resulted in a win for Australia by 16 points to 13, after a fine game.
