HEMP MARKET,
The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows: —Hemp market very firm ; very little New Zealand offering ; reports from Manila indicate large business. New Zealand hemp, good fair grade on spot, per ton £25 15s; fair grade on spot, per ton £24 10s ; fair current Manila on spot, per ton £25 10s ; September-De-cember shipments, New Zealand good fair grade, per ton £25 ; New Zealand fair grade, per ton £24 ;- fair current Manila, per ton £25 ; Manila output 17,000 bales. London, August 14. Weddel’s Annual Review anti cipates that prices in butter during the coming season will be rather lower than the prices oflast season, if Australian exports are equal to present expectations.
