THE CZAR’S VISIT TO ENGLAND AND FRANCE.
ANARCHISTS ARRESTED.
Paris, August 2
The Czar had a long audience with M. Pichon, Minister for Foreign Affairs. The Temps comments upon the fact that the Czar and President Fallieres did not refer to French and Russian friendship with Britain, and suggests the hallucinations about “hemming in” are hardly yet dissipated. M. Pichon, interviewed regarding the Czar’s meeting with King Edward, declared that he would excite suspicion in no quarter. The Czar received a party of French and Crimean veterans and presented them with the gold medals which are granted to Russian soldiers tor bravery. The French fleet escorted the Czar’s yacht, the Standart, to Spithead. Twenty suspects, including two Russian anarchists, were arrested at Cherbourg, the naval station in France, where the Czar was welcomed by President Fallieres. London, August 2,
King Edward welcomed the Czar and Czaritsa. Subsequently an inspection of the British fleet was held iu honour of the Royal visit.
