ACCIDENT ON THE WHARF.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, William who,was engaged tipping coal from the s.s. Kennedy into a truck, at, the local wharf, was knocked off the truck by a,basket of coal, and fell backwards on tb the wharf. He fell on bis head and was rendered unconscious. Medical aid was immediately obtained, when it was found that Neville was suffering .from severe concussion of ' the brain. He was removed to his residence, and is doing as well as can be expected. It appears that at midnight a start was made to discharge the Cargo of coal from the s.s. Kennedy, Neville and another man named Prouse were tipping the baskets of coal into the tracks as they were - discharged from the hold. Apparently they missed one of the baskets, which must have struck Neville either on the «hest or head, and knocked him backwards out of the truck on to , the wharf, a drop of about six feet, his head striking the wharf. His mate in the truck did not see where the basket struck Neville. Upon enquiry this morning, we were informed that the condition of the injured man was much improved, and he is making satisfactory. progress towards recovery.
