' He Said that for the first five months of the present year the total value bf the exports was ;£1,850,00a more than during the corresponding months of 1908, whilst for the six months just ended, the precise figures of which are not yet available, the increase over the first half of 1908 was about In April and May of this year alone the increase as compared with the same months of 1908, was about a million. It was only fair to say he added, that the first half of the year was the heavier half, but he regarded the figures as most encouraging.
