A CONSTABLE STABBED.
Dunedin, July 2. Constable Daubney, stationed at Woodhaugh, was- stabbed both above and below the left ear tonight when arresting aumnnamed Michael Coleman oua charge of drunkenness and using obscene language. The temporal artery was severed, and the constable lost a quantity of blood before the doctor arrived. The constable’s son, FredDaubney,, arrived on the scene as his father .was staggering away, and Seized and / held Coleman till assistance arrived. A large clajsp, knife has been found where the affray took, place.
