HOCKEY.
The hockey season will be opened in Foxton to-morrow afternoon. Mr Perreau has given permission to the different clubs to play in his paddock in Duncan Street. Players from the Moutoa, Foxton and Te Awahou Clubs will take part and an enjoyable afternoon should be spent. All interested in the game are invited to '•‘roll up.”
When the different clubs held their annual meetings, amongst the officers elected were delegates to the Association. Since then nothing has been done to form an Association. It would be in the best interest of hockey in this district to form one, and a competition could be arranged and fixtures drawn up for. the season. No doubt some hockey enthusiasts would give a trophy to such an Association for competitions amongst the different clubs. At present there are three clubs in existence, and another would probably be formed at Himatangi. A good strong Association could- be formed with these four clubs, and representative fixtures could be arranged with adjoining Associations. The Foxton Club being
the oldest and right on the spot should take the first step and call a meeting of delegates at once, and get the Association formed and fixtures drawn up.
