BREACH OF FLAXMILLS AWARD.

At yesterday’s sitting of the local S.M. Court, W. J. Culver, Inspector ot Awards, proceeded against George Green, flaxmiller, of Moutoa, to recover the sum of ;£io as a penalty for a breach of the Flaxmillers’ Award committed on Good Friday and Easter Monday by employing a paddocker at ordinary rates instead of at overtime rates as required by the Award ; there was a further claim of £lO for a breach of award by employing a rouse - about from April 22 to May i at 15s per week and .board instead of at 10M per hour as fixed by the award. Constable Woods conducted the cases on behalf of the Inspector. A letter was put in from the defendant admitting the breaches. Constable Woods stated that the back wages had since been paid.
