THE WHEAT MARKET.
New York, April 21. • It is reported that the wheat reserves in the United States are two million bushels in excess of the estimate of Mr Wilson, Secretary for Agriculture. The possibility of Congress removing the duty has led Mr Patten to refrain from cornering July options as he cornered those of May. Prices are dropping for May deliveries. Yesterday the quotation was 122 cents. PRICES IN ENGLAND. London, April 21. In some of the English provincial markets wheat is selling at 503 a quarter. The price of brea d generally is from to the four-pound loaf. A DROP IN. LONDON. London April 22. The price of wheat in London dropped, the decrease ranging from 6d to is per quarter. New York, April 22. The crux of the Chicago wheat deal is whether Missouri cau deliver its wiuter crop before July. Mr Patteu and the bulls say "No.” Messrs Ogden and Armour and the "bears” say " Yes.” Mr Patten lost ,£120,000 on aper on Tuesday’s fall. * London, April 22. The wheat market is dull, and cargoes are about 3d easier. The American visible supply is 55,077,000 bushels.
