His Grace Archbishop Redwood, Metropolitan of the Roman Catholic Church in New Zealand, who celebrated his 70th birthday on Thursday last received congratulations from all parts of New Zealand and Australia. The Archbishop will be entertained by the priests of the archdiocese at a function to be held on Thursday next.
The -new headmaster of Wanganui Collegiate School, Rev. J. E. Dove, arrived in Wellington from Eondon by the Ruapehu. Mr Dove is well acquainted with New Zealand. He was vicar of Hunterville, Wellington diocese, from 1899 to 1903. Then he returned to England, and became headmaster of the Denstone College, Staffordshire. After that he assumed the duties of second master of Durham School. Prior to coming out to New Zealand originally he was for 18 years a master at Hailey bury College.
