OF INTEREST TO RATEPAYERS.

Tint Borough Council, ala special meeting last night, decided to strenuously oppose, by petition, the attempt being made to further reduce the boundary area by onesixth. There is very little time left in which to lodge objections, and ratepayers who have the welfare of the borough at heart, should lose no time in appending their signatures to the petition, which, we presume, may be done at the Council Chambers, or when the petition is in circulation. Reducing the borough area means heavier taxation for those who remain, and as we shall be called upon sooner or later to provide interest and sinking funds for further loans, it would be advantageous to spread the expenditure over as wide an area as possible. If, therefore, ratepayers are wise, they will sign the petition opposing any further reduction of the borough area.
