CRICKET.

A rep. team was to have travelled to Levin on Saturday to play the representatives from the Horowhenua Association, but owing to the wet weather several of the players did not put in an appearance, and after waiting for over an hour only six had turned up. Rather than disappoint the Horowhentia players it was decided to make the trip. One substitute was picked up on the road and on arriving at Levin three others were induced to join the Foxton “ representatives.”

Horowheuaa mustered nine and with the help of substitutes were able to put a full team in the field.

The game resulted in an easy win for the Horowhenua team who scored 99 to Foxton’s 35 and 21. The following are the scores : Foxton, —W- Cook, 3 —3; F. Whibley B—o, Nye o—l, Gordon I—6,1 —6, Holt 11 —2, Momo 4 —o, Rough I—l,1 —1, L. Ingram 2—l, C, Ingram o —o, Terry I—31 —3 ; extras 4—4; totals, 35— 2I - Horowhenua. Neale 9, Tremewan 20, Cathie 5, Naughton 17, McMeekan 6, Mcßaiu 1, Bevan 12, Kiugi Tahuri 6, Rout 14, Noble 1 ; Knight 0, extras, 8 ; total 99.

A return match will be played at Foxton shortly when it is hoped both associations will be able to put their best teams in the field. The following team has been chosen to represent the Foxton Club in their match with Himataugi to be played on the Park pitch to-morrow afternoon: — Messrs Nye, Martin, Cook, Momo, Nightingale, Whibley, Robinson, Spiers, Bullard. Put! and Tawhia.
