MAGISTRATE'S COURT RETURNS.
The following is a return of the business done in the Magistrate’s Court at Boston daring tire quarter ended 30th September:—The Magistrate presided over three sittings and justices eight. Fortyeight civil cases were dealt with ; aggregate amount sued for 153 lid ; amount recovered, 3s yd ; 62 plaints were entered and and three judgment summons ~issuld-_ Seventy-one summoines and other processes were served within two miles of the Court and 32 over that distance. 15s was paid in civil stamp fees. Criminal returns showed that 42 males and four females were taken into custody, summoned or apprehended, eight males and one female were discharged, one male dismissed ; 33 males and 3 females were summarily convicted; 26 males and two females fined ; three males were imprisoned ; an order was made against one male, two males and one female were convicted and discharged with a caution. Stamp fees paid amounted to £S 4s and fines, £lO. Six old age pensions were granted and one refused. Fines amounting to £2 5s were inflicted for breaches of the Borough by-laws.
