VOLUNTEER MOVEMENT.

Mr W. E. Barnard has received the following letter through Mr Stevens, M.P., re the formation of a volunteer corps : —Wellington, 10th June, 1908. John Stevens, Esq., M.P., Bulls.—Dear Sir,—l beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of date 9th inst., in reference to the desire of the inhabitants of Foxton to form a volunteer corps in their district. In reply, I have the honour to inform you that I will make enquiries whether any petition has yet been received from those desirous of forming a corp.— Yours faithfully, Robert McNab.
